A Sea to Sky Gondola Wedding in Squamish, BC | Kai Jacobson

The Sea to Sky Gondola is one of the most incredible places to get married in Squamish. A short ride up from the highway takes you above the trees, with panoramic views across Howe Sound and the surrounding Coast Mountains. It's hard to think of another venue in the area that offers quite the same perspective.

One of the things I love about photographing weddings here is how much the setting becomes part of the day. From the gondola ride up to the views from the summit, there's something pretty special about bringing everyone together in the mountains.

Located just outside downtown Squamish, the Sea to Sky Gondola is an easy place for guests to reach, but it feels a world away once you're at the top. The summit has a few different spaces for ceremonies and receptions, with the landscape providing a backdrop in almost every direction. The Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge is another great spot to take in the views, and makes for a pretty memorable stop during the day.

The surrounding area is also a big part of what makes Squamish such a great place for a wedding. There are endless opportunities to get outside, whether that's hiking, mountain biking, climbing or exploring the coastline. For guests travelling to the area, it's a chance to make a few days of it and experience a bit of what the Sea to Sky has to offer.

As a Squamish wedding photographer, I'm lucky to photograph weddings at some incredible venues close to home. The Sea to Sky Gondola is one I always enjoy coming back to. The views are pretty hard to get tired of, and it's a setting that gives each wedding its own sense of place.
